Hello hello!!! I'm Imogen AKA Last Born Daughter.
WHAT I DO...
...create sustainable jewellery and accessories hand cut from end of life inner tubes. The earrings are super lightweight and comfortable to wear and the pots are hands-on-tactile! I embellish the black rubber with pops of neon and metallic paint. They come to you with a story of who donated the tubes and where they were most ridden... WINNER WINNER TUBEY INNERS!
...PUNCHY PRINTS! Printmaking is my happy place, especially when using bright neon inks that pop on the paper and make art to brighten up any wall. I use lino block printing techniques to produce prints which tend to be humorous and sometimes a bit sweary!
...I also work with concrete to produce vessels and homewares. Again taking any opportunity to interject some super bright neon or a pun. My concrete jellies are a rock hard interpretation of the fun birthday party staple... Don't eat these ones though as THEY'RE WELL 'ARD!
Watch this space for more explorations into repurposing materials (think vinyl records, fabric and leather offcuts and beach waste), more abusive bird prints and hand gestures and soon things printed onto wood...
Why call my biz Last Born Daughter? My parents told me that in their baby name book Imogen meant “last born daughter”, and being the happy accident that I was as the 3rd born child, my dad swiftly made sure that I was definitely the last born with a trip to the vets! So when my Pro Mum run was coming to an end and as my very own last born daughter started school, Last Born Daughter (the Biz) was born.
