Leah Halliday

Indie Biz ownerLeah Halliday

Hello my name is Leah! I design a jolly mix of colourful stitched and illustrated gifts, paper goods, homewares, embroidery kits and surface pattern designs from my studio at home in a tiny hamlet on the coast of South West of Scotland.

Inspiration for my designs is found in the flowers I grows in my garden, my every increasing collection of stuff, that includes vintage fabrics, homewares and nostalgic images. I'm also drawn to colour, print and pattern. Found objects and forgotten fabrics can sometimes find their way into my designs.

Many of my designs start life as hand drawn original illustrations and lettering using a pen and ink. These are then scanned so the illustrations can then be tweaked digitally adding colours and textures. I hope my designs bring happiness and a smile to the everyday and add some colour and joy to peoples homes and lives.

I've been teaching my popular sewing and creative classes over the last 10 years in Dumfries and across the U.K. I offers a variety of sewing, dressmaking and craft classes, private parties, community workshops and event experiences. These have sadly been put on hold for now. I really hopes that my range of hand embroidery kits and patterns inspire others to pick up a needle and thread so they too can discover the joy of slow stitch.

Head over to my website to see my full range. Why not follow along on social media to find snippets of behind the scenes, work in progress, sneaky peeks plus a burst of colour and florals.

Commissions and collaborations are most definitely welcomed. If you're a fellow indie roller use the code KEEPGOING for a 10% discount in my online shop.
