Lizzie Martell Illustration

Indie Biz ownerLizzie Martell

Hello, I am Lizzie, a freelance children's illustrator and watercolour artist at Lizzie Martell Illustration. I jumped into full-time freelance in January 2020, but have been running my business since my little daughter was born in 2016. I'm now an independent Mama and we live in a cosy flat by the river in Boxmoor, Hertfordshire with our little black cat, Bess.

I design and create beautiful art prints and greeting cards for children and sell them on my website, Etsy and in a range of local independent stockists. My illustrations are full of colour and painted in bright, bold watercolours. I'm inspired by characterful animals and the natural world, and my shop is full of animal alphabets, dinosaur prints and nursery rhyme illustrations. I want my illustrations to bring joy to little children - and big ones too!

I developed my wholesale range in January 2021 and I'm now developing this further to bring a range of home ware products to my shop, including teatowels, cushions and mugs! I'm excited to have won the chance to exhibit my artwork at the Autumn Fair 2021 with the Theo Paphitis #SBS initiative.

I'm delighted to be joining the Indie Roller community to share and learn from other independent creatives - I can't wait to get to know you all!
