Hi, I’m Giselle, a papercut collage artist.
At Score + Fold you will find bold, bright papercuts and prints all made with my fair hands. My original papercut collages are hand-drawn onto paper in reverse, cut by hand with a scalpel and glued down, piece by piece. I’ve always been a fan of lo-fi processes and making things with my hands.
Most of my papercuts start off with the songs that are stuck in my head. You know the ones: you hear them when you wake up, find yourself humming them through the day, the words whizz around as you’re going to sleep... THOSE. Making these earworms into paper songs is all about connection, celebrating that feeling you get when you hear a snippet of a song and it transports you to another place, reminds you of a favourite person or a tucked away memory.
