Squiggle & Spud

Indie Biz ownerAmy

Hello! I'm Amy and my indie biz is called Squiggle & Spud.

I design joyful things for both big and small, all from my home, in a small village in North Yorkshire. I am sticker, badge and stationary obsessed and much of what I do involves designing around these.

I am relatively new to the small biz world and have a background in retail, hospitality, fashion & business, administration and teaching. Early in 2021, I launched a children's magazine which I had written and illustrated myself in hand-painted watercolours. The magazine was sold both online and in our local village shop. This then sparked the inspiration for a small series of art prints, one of which took part in the most incredible Print Swap and was featured in two temporary exhibitions.

Having joined Indie Roller in March 2021, I became fascinated by digital design and spent the summer discovering and developing my digital art skills. As a result of this and everything I've learned since becoming a member, I decided to change my business name and re-brand as Squiggle & Spud, concentrating on digital design.

Squiggle & Spud's first collection of pinbadges, vinyl stickers and A6 postcards was launched in October 2021. Even though it's in its very early days, I am excited by its potential, in the lovely community I've started to build and where this all might be heading in the future. My goal for next year is to design a range of greetings cards and stationary and my ultimate dream is to one day design a range of clothing. I want to go worldwide by branching out and offering world-wide shipping and also to take Squiggle & Spud to wholesale.

The journey has just begun and everyone is welcome!
