Time For Me Teas

Indie Biz ownerKate Whorlow

Hi I’m Kate, a herbalist from Cornwall specialising in delicious organic loose leaf herbal tea blends, created to give you a moment to breathe, be present and recharge your energy - even if just for five minutes!

All of my tea blends are caffeine-free and contain no flavourings at all - the herbs have enough flavour on their own. I want to prove that herbal tea can be delicious without any added flavourings of any kind - I don’t even add honey! Plus there are many health benefits to drinking herbal tea regularly too and I keep this in mind when creating my blends.

No teabags are ever used, the best tasting experience comes from using a teapot and strainer, or an infuser (stainless steel is best). This allows the herbs to infuse freely and release all their flavour without the constriction of a tea bag (less waste too). All the packaging is plastic free, with recyclable tins and compostable/biodegradable bags, we even use paper tape to seal the parcels.

The best temperature to infuse your herbal tea blend is just off the boil, approx 95C. This temperature helps to release the sweeter constituents of the herbs for a delicious cup. If you use boiling water the tannins and astringent properties are released first, which is why herbal teas taste bitter and people often don’t try them a second time.

I have different sizes available of my tea blends and can also offer unique blends as wedding/party favours too. Please contact me for more details.
